Digital Pen and Paper

How would you like to be able to write your musings on a normal piece of paper, with a normal pen and get that transferred (and not only transferred but also have the text converted into computer text) to your computer automatically?

So, how does the magic happen?

 

The pen

A small camera is embedded into the end of the pen. The paper you are writing on will have had a very faint background of tiny dots printed on it. The dots are almost invisible. It is these dots that the pen will read and will tell the pen whereabouts it is on the paper and which piece of paper you are writing on.

This is stored in the pen's memory until such time the pen is docked to its base station or sent to a phone using bluetooth.

 

The paper

As described above, the paper has a fine dot pattern that is almost invisible to the eye. The dot pattern is basically a map that describes which piece of paper and whereabouts on that piece of paper the pen is.

The paper is just regular paper, it can even be cheap 'value' paper. You can print to it with your own colour laser postscript printer or you can have it professionaly printed by an Anoto aware printer company.

 

The benefits to you

Nearly everybody knows how to use a pen and paper, but many fear the computer.

Your business forms can be 'digitised' to use the pen and paper, so your staff, with very minimal training will be able to enter data directly into your systems just by writing on the paper. This has immediate savings on manpower by cutting out the transfer of data from the form into the computer.
